Colouring

Why should kids colour? We all remember our childhood, how we were able to create something from nothing from simply using a piece of paper and crayons or pencils. It can be minutes of fun, or can last for hours.

Regardless of how long a student spends on colouring, it is highly beneficial for kids of all ages. Coloring helps promote hand-eye coordination and proper pencil grip. Colouring requires the user to make specific strokes in specific locations. To achieve this, a student must be content with the colouring tool and their hand-eye coordination to achieve this.

Colouring requires patience and focus, two areas that young learners struggle with. Colouring can be soothing for them as it can allow them to express their feelings in a picture and helps promote creativity.

Colour the number: animals is a great worksheet to use in any young learner lesson. We encourage students to try and complete the activity independently.
