Why Teach Matching?
Matching is crucial because children must be able to differentiate between same and different before they can learn more sophisticated cognitive skills, such as finding common relations, sorting (sorting) and ordering (serializing).
Pre-reading skills include matching. The ability to observe small differences in letters like b and d or words like doom and wood is crucial for children learning to read at a later age.
